Allergy Treatment

At Bluegrass Allergy Care we treat all types of allergic conditions for all members of the family. We not only treat the more common conditions like hay fever, food allergies and skin allergies, but also less common conditions like swelling under the skin (angioedema), and swelling of the throat and airways (anaphylaxis).

We also specialize in treating allergies in young children, including toddlers and infants. We understand that while allergies in children can be especially difficult to diagnose, catching them and remaining vigilant about their treatment is incredibly important to the health and safety of your family.

Our Treatment Process

  1. Consultation
For each new patient we conduct a detailed consultation to understand the history of their symptoms and the variety of environmental factors encountered at work, school, and home.
  2. Examination
We perform a physical examination to understand your current health and symptoms.
  3. Testing
Based on the findings from the consultation and examination, allergy tests may be carried out to identify specific allergens that effect you. If necessary, breathing tests and x-rays may also be performed.
  4. Education
We teach you how to safeguard yourself from the things that trigger your symptoms, what to do when your symptoms occur, and how to prevent additional health problems.
  5. Management
We work with you to develop a treatment plan for effectively managing your condition. Your plan may include medications or allergy shots if necessary. Follow up office visits are important to monitor your health and modify your treatment to accommodate life’s changes.
